Energy and Electrical Savings of LED Light Boxes
|
|
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One of the greatest advantages of LED light boxes is low energy or power consumption. Traditional light boxes typically use either T8 or T5 fluorescent bulbs, both of which require more power to run and therefore use more electricity per year. If you look at the power consumption of a traditional T8 or T5 light box, and compare it to the newer LED light boxes, you will quickly see that there is "payoff" to be had over the years due to electrical savings. Because of this, LED's can be a much better option for airports, malls, hotels, and other businesses that use light boxes. Most of these institutions have several light boxes installed throughout their facility or retail environment. Multiply the savings below by many installed light boxes and the math becomes easy: LED's save the most, while the traditional fluorescent light boxes burn the money. Many of the places that use light boxes are also allotted a certain wattage for their displays - so the less power each light box uses, the more light boxes that can be displayed. See the chart below of electrical savings for a typical, 24" x 36" sized light box.
